A growing landscaping business that needed a site to match

Brabazon Landscaping is a landscaping and garden design company covering Bristol and North Somerset — delivering patios, planting schemes, fencing, and full garden transformations for homes across the region. A growing business with a strong reputation built on the quality of the work.

The problem: their online presence didn't reflect the quality of what gets delivered on site. For a trade where homeowners research carefully before committing to significant spend, the website is usually the deciding factor between "get a quote" and "try another company". The brief was a premium, editorial, trustworthy site that made the decision easy.

The direction: warm whites, a slate, teal and copper palette, a GD brick monogram logo, and a clean 5-page structure that gives a potential customer everything they need in under a minute of browsing.

01

Design Direction

The palette pairs slate (#2a3838) and teal (#3a8a7a) with copper (#b5651d) accents on a warm white background — calm, earthy, and considered. The GD brick monogram logo carries the identity throughout. Typography is clean and confident without tipping into corporate — this is still a local landscaping company, just one that takes its work seriously.

02

5-Page Site Structure

The site covers Home, About, Services, Portfolio, and Contact — tight, focused, and no wasted clicks. Every page a standalone PHP template with inline CSS, schema markup, and the specific content needed to convert that stage of the customer journey. Portfolio is the real workhorse: before/after imagery of actual completed projects doing more heavy lifting than any amount of marketing copy.

03

Local SEO Architecture

Even on a 5-page site, local SEO fundamentals matter. We configured LocalBusiness schema with Bristol and North Somerset as areas served, Service schema for the key landscaping offerings, FAQPage schema, and BreadcrumbList across all templates. The copy includes natural location signals without turning the site into a keyword-stuffed mess.

04

Yoast SEO & Sitemap Submission

Installed Yoast SEO, configured content types and taxonomies appropriately, disabled feeds and author archives (single-author site), and ensured the XML sitemap was ready at /sitemap_index.xml. Google Search Console verified via domain property, sitemap submitted on launch, indexing underway within days.

05

Launch & Technical Polish

SSL installed and verified, SMTP configured and tested, contact form submission tested end-to-end, robots.txt verified to reference the sitemap, and a full mobile-first responsive pass. The site went live without any of the usual DNS/SSL/email tripping hazards that slow small business launches.

Common questions about landscaping and trade website design
Yes. Brabazon Landscaping is a great example — a fully custom WordPress build for a Bristol and North Somerset landscaping company. We build websites regularly for garden and outdoor trades including landscapers, gardeners, tree surgeons, fencers, paving contractors, and ground workers — both local and national.
Brabazon Landscaping is a landscaping company covering Bristol and North Somerset, offering garden design, patios, planting schemes, fencing, and full garden transformations for homes across the region.
A 5-page custom WordPress build typically takes 2 to 4 weeks start to finish — depending on content readiness, image supply, and how many revisions are needed on the design. The actual build is quick; what usually slows a project down is waiting on photography, copy sign-off, or logo decisions. At Mako Digital we front-load those conversations so the build itself moves as fast as possible.
Yoast generates an XML sitemap at yourdomain.co.uk/sitemap_index.xml — this is the file Google crawls to discover all the pages on your site. For Brabazon we installed Yoast, configured which content types and taxonomies should be included, then submitted the sitemap to Google Search Console on launch day. Without a submitted sitemap, a new site can take weeks to be fully indexed; with one, it usually happens within days.
Yes. While Mako Digital is based in Wigan, we build bespoke WordPress websites for tradespeople and service businesses across the UK — Brabazon Landscaping is based in Bristol and North Somerset, and we have clients in the Midlands, the South, and across the North. Location isn't a barrier — the work is built for web delivery and remote collaboration from day one.
For Brabazon Landscaping we implemented LocalBusiness schema (with the area served set to Bristol and North Somerset), Service schema for the main landscaping services offered, FAQPage schema on relevant pages, and BreadcrumbList across all templates. This combination tells Google exactly what the business does, where it operates, and what it offers — the foundation of local SEO for any trade business.

Growing trade business? Let's build you a site to match.

Whether you're a landscaper, a paving contractor, a fencer, or any outdoor trade — we'll build something that brings in the right customers.
