This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information when you visit makodigital.co.uk or get in touch with us. We keep it short and in plain English.

Mako Digital is a trading name of 24K Solutions Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15080503). We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

2. What we collect

2.1 When you contact us

If you use our contact form, email or phone us, we collect the details you give us: usually your name, email address, phone number, business name, the service you are interested in and your message.

2.2 When you become a client

If we work together, we also keep the information needed to deliver the work and invoice you, such as billing details, project correspondence and any logins you share with us for your website or accounts.

2.3 When you browse our website

If you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (for example, which pages are viewed and roughly where visitors are). If you decline, Google Analytics is not loaded. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies to follow you around the web.

3. Why we use it (and our lawful basis)

• To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote — our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, or steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract.
• To deliver and support the work you have asked for — performance of our contract with you.
• To invoice you and keep business and tax records — our legal obligations.
• To understand how our website is used — your consent, which you give by accepting cookies and can withdraw at any time.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.

4. Who we share it with

We only share your information with the service providers we use to run our business, and only as far as they need it:

• Hostinger — website hosting
• Microsoft 365 — email, including delivery of contact form enquiries
• Google — Google Analytics (only if you accept cookies), Google Fonts and the Google Maps embed
• Font Awesome — icons used on the website
• Our accountants and accounting software — for invoicing and tax records

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent protections.

5. How long we keep it

• Enquiries that do not go ahead — kept only as long as needed to respond and follow up, then deleted.
• Client records — kept for as long as we work together, and financial records for six years afterwards, as required for UK tax purposes.
• Analytics data — held by Google in line with the retention settings on our Google Analytics account.

6. Cookies

When you first visit, we ask whether you accept cookies. Your choice is stored in your own browser so we do not ask again. Google Analytics cookies are only set if you click Accept. To change your mind, clear this site’s data in your browser and you will be asked again.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• ask us to correct anything that is wrong
• ask us to delete your information
• object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
• withdraw your consent to analytics cookies at any time
• ask for your information in a portable format

8. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
