A beautifully crafted WordPress website for a Wigan-based handmade jewellery business — featuring auto-loading galleries, video backgrounds, Google Maps integration, and local SEO to drive footfall and online enquiries.
Rosewater Oddities is a handmade jewellery business based in Wigan, creating colourful, quirky, one-of-a-kind pieces. They sell in person at Bygone Times in Leigh and RADCaT in Wigan, but had no online presence to showcase their collection or tell their story.
They needed a website that captured the personality of their brand — vibrant, creative, and full of character. It had to look stunning on mobile, showcase their products through a proper gallery, and help local customers find their physical selling locations.
Most importantly, it had to feel like them — not a cookie-cutter template that could belong to anyone.
We worked closely with the Rosewater team to capture their brand personality — vibrant, playful, and handcrafted. The result is a custom colour scheme, decorative typography, and a design that feels as unique as the jewellery itself. Video backgrounds and rose-themed decorative elements bring the brand to life on screen.
We built a dynamic gallery system that auto-loads images as visitors scroll — no pagination, no clicking through pages. Images are optimised for speed with lazy loading and compression, so even on a gallery-heavy site the page loads fast. The gallery is fully manageable through WordPress — just upload new photos and they appear automatically.
Rosewater sells at two physical locations — Bygone Times in Leigh and RADCaT in Wigan. We created interactive location cards with embedded Google Maps, stall numbers, and directions so customers can find them easily. This also feeds into the local SEO strategy, targeting searches for handmade jewellery in both areas.
We optimised the site for longtail local searches — "handmade jewellery Wigan", "artisan gifts Leigh", "unique earrings near me" — with comprehensive structured data, meta descriptions, image alt tags, and clean URL structures. Full domain setup, SSL, email configuration, and Search Console integration completed the launch.
Our new website is fantastic and exactly what Rosewater Oddities needed. It's a great platform for selling our products and really reflects our brand. We couldn't be happier with the result.
